abstract

  • This article studies Helena Lumbreras's films in relation to her strategies and collaborative projects as a means of intervention in the social and political debates of 1970s Spain. We also consider the ideological connections and the affective relationships in collectives Lumbreras organized, such as the Colectivo de Cine de Clase (CCC). Using primary and secondary sources, we analyse Helena Lumbreras's and the CCC's methodologies, accounting for their oppositional tactics within late Francoism and early democracy. We also highlight how Lumbreras used cinema as a tool for ideological and material change and paid special attention to issues of class and gender.
