NGI Unique collaborative ecosystem and programme for promoting the transatlantic cooperation in NGI technologies

Forming collaborations and building strategic relations with the United States and Canada are priorities for the EU. Since 2016, the Next Generation Internet (NGI) initiative has undertaken several actions towards this cooperation on topics such as trust and data sovereignty, digital identity, internet architecture renovation and decentralised technologies. The EU-funded NGI Sargasso project will accelerate transatlantic collaboration on the development and experimentation of new ideas, the implementation of prototypes and the contribution of open-source communities to trends that will reshape NGI technologies and services. The project will run five open calls for proposals and support up to 96 projects.
