abstract

  • The use of MMS to verify an in-house code for electromagnetics based on the FEM has been presented. The process to verify in an isolated way different terms of the variational formulation discretized by finite elements has been illustrated. Results corresponding to vector polynomial functions and complex exponential functions as manufactured solutions have been shown as proofs of verification of the code. A number of significant causes of errors and loss of significance in the results provided by the code that were detected during the verification process have also been reported.
