  • Welcome to this Special Issue of the IEEE/OSA Journal of Selected Topics in Quantum Electronics on Terahertz Photonics! This special issue, comprising 18 contributed papers and seven invited papers, represents an overview of the state of the art in this field, broadly defined to cover from 100 GHz to 10 THz. Terahertz Photonics has spearheaded the access to the Terahertz range, developing innovative THz sources and detectors at the edge of the state of the art, to enable key demonstrations in important areas of application such as broadband communications, spectroscopy, and imaging.
