The recent appearance of an annotated Anthology of excerpts offers the opportunity to revisit the many questions surrounding the definition of the concept of political representation. The selection of texts and the organisation of the book, as in the project edited by Manuela Albertone and Michel Troper, which offers a broad overview of the many different historical and geographical contexts of representation, should necessarily address this question. The editors' attempt to find a workable solution to the problem by distinguishing between the concept and the meta-concept of representation is of the greatest interest, but may also raise some concerns.
