The objective of this task is to characterize the microstructure of consolidated products (HIP-consolidated powders and post-HIP thermally treated specimens) manufactured at CEIT using Transmission Electron Microscopy (and associated microanalysis techniques). In 2015, consolidated samples from the most promising atomizations performed in 2014, in as-HIP state, will be studied to check if the nanodispersion has been optimized. Characterization will focus on the identification of the nanoprecipitates (oxides, carbides, etc.) present in the steels. Their size and spatial distribution, chemical composition and crystal structure will be determined. These results will be compared with the ones obtained during the previous period.
