abstract
- This article examines the doctrinal heritage of the European Court of Human Rights, who has issued more than 20,000 judgments in 60 years. This article provides guidelines to select key judgments of the European Court of Human Rights, understanding that they are part of the indissociable common European heritage derived from the Praetorian building of human rights. After a preliminary identification, this contribution analyses and highlights the concepts developed in 27 judgments issued between 1960 and 1979, which became part of the Council of Europe's system of human rights protection. Today, this system still allows us to resolve the significant issues related to rights violations on the continent, which are not so different from those addressed by the Court sixty years ago.
