abstract

  • The present essay aims to analyse Anna Kuliscioffs reflections on feminine condition and on women's role in society, with a focus which, stemming from contemporary feminisms, retrieves its foundations within a feminist view, in spite of Kuliscioff's refusal to deem herself as such. Three main themes are outlined: the need to make women's role in society visible, by aiming to shed light over the "break of man's monopoly"; the analysis of the categories of sex and class in the authoress's thinking, which stand out as an element of tension between socialism and feminism; last but not least, the attention to women's condition as a specifically human condition.
