  • URL: http://www.praiseworthyprize.org/jsm/index.php?journal=ireamt&page=article&op=view&path%5B%5D=13501 ------------------------- Abstract: In this paper the pending drop method is used in order to measure the surface tension of water (as lubricant) in air vs. humidity at 3, 13, 15 and 30ÂșC. The results demonstrate that the steam in air acts as an effective surfactant for the water-air interface. This can be related to the dynamic effect of vaporization according to Newton's third law. A method to substitute chemical surfactants by just water steam has therefore been proposed. This method allows increasing the lubricating properties of liquids, in this case water
