abstract

  • This work proposal is the use of a "Management by Values" scheme for the leadership in "Open Innovation" nets. A first review of the scientific literature indicates the style of leadership to apply. Although it could be considered that a pure transformational leadership would fit such advanced nets, it can be concluded that a certain transactional facet can not be eliminated. Within this frame, the study of the management style to use guides us towards a Management by Values. This kind of management provide advantages on (i) communication, (ii) relationships within the innovation net and (iii) protection in respect to undesired resources deviation. In the past, the human dimension that encourage innovation has been studied. The humanities in engineering, have also been reviewed to understand the associated values. In this moment, the need to put these theories into practice in organizations arises. The results of this work offer paths for deepening into a Management by Values in the frame of the Oppen Innovation. These results are expressed as propositions that can be easily tested in the future.
