  • Environmental journalism has been instrumental to changing public opinion from believing we are the chosen species, with a right to subdue nature, to the awareness that nature must be respected. However, reactionary sectors of society are using environmental journalism to confuse public opinion. Only by regarding this genre as an important part of science journalism, and by selecting truly reliable sources, can we fight against the demagoguery that often creeps into the media when it comes to the environment.
