Tolerancia y hospitalidad: una reflexión moral ante la inmigración. (A Rafael del Águila, in memoriam) = Toleration and Hospitality: Ethical thoughts Concerning Immigration. (Rafael del Aguila, in memoriam)

Tolerance and hospitality are analysed as two dimensions in which the acceptance of difference operates in a political society (the first one, internal to it, the second one, external). Both are suggested to stem from, and to reinforce, experiences of reflective self-strangeness that lie in the heart of modernity. This article forwards an analysis of the internal logic -demands and restrictions- of these two dimensions and some ways in which their demands -at the epistemic, normative and political levels- intertwine in an era of globalization.
